Design & Build

From the Drawing to the Ground.

Landscape design, hardscaping, outdoor rooms, and site development: conceived and built by the EHS team, who will be the ones caring for it for years.

Building a landscape well requires two things that rarely share the same company: genuine horticultural knowledge and skilled tradespeople who can execute without a subcontractor in sight. EHS brings both. Every design-build project is planned with a clear understanding of how it will grow, how it will age, and how it will be maintained. Because we will be the ones maintaining it.

What We Do

Landscape Design & Installation

Full-service design from concept to installation. EHS works through the design process with you, listening first, then drawing, and brings in plant material suited to your specific soil, light, and climate. Chester County, the Main Line, and the Brandywine Valley each have their own character. The planting plans reflect that.

Hardscaping

Patios, walkways, terraces, retaining walls, and steps: dry-laid and wet-laid, in fieldstone, paving stone, brick, creek cobblestone, and more. EHS’s masonry work is built to outlast trends and complement the property it lives on.

Outdoor Rooms & Living Spaces

Fire pits, outdoor kitchens, pergolas, pool pavilions, and covered entertaining areas. EHS designs and builds outdoor rooms that become genuine extensions of the home, thought through from the ground up, not assembled from a catalog.

Water Features

Ponds, fountains, and water features designed as integrated elements of the landscape, not decorative add-ons. Scale, material, and placement are considered alongside everything else in the design.

Outdoor Lighting

Landscape lighting designed for the property, not the product catalog. EHS plans and installs low-voltage systems that extend the life of your outdoor spaces into the evening, highlighting structure, guiding movement, and showcasing the investment you’ve made in the landscape.

Site Development

Grading, drainage preparation, and site readiness for new landscape installation. Getting the site right before anything goes in the ground.

How We Start

The first conversation isn’t about plants. It’s about you. How you live on the property. How you want to use it. Whether you want to look at it from the kitchen window or actually walk through it on a Tuesday evening.

We want to know everything, including the stuff clients don’t think to mention. Is there a pool going in down the road? Do you have dogs? Do you care about cutting down on maintenance, or do you love being out there and just want more to work with? Those answers change everything about what gets designed and planted.

The goal is a property that works for your life and keeps working. No surprises, no “we didn’t think about that.” We think about that.

See the Work.

EHS has designed, built, and maintained some of the most distinctive private properties in the Brandywine Valley and Delaware. A selection of completed projects is waiting for you.
